Adult Classes

**New situation in light of the Covid 19 pandemic**

Marie’s Bakehouse classes have gone online!!

I will be adding all the details of the new classes on the adult classes page but some will also be suitable for children to make too. The cost of each class is £20, and that is one payment for all the members of your household, so if you have a parent and three children who would like to join in, that is one payment of £20 for all four students! Lots of the classes will be designed with the fact that you may not have lots of cake equipment at home, and many techniques will be able to be carried out with things you may have around the house already like cocktail sticks and cotton buds. Please see the details on each class for more information or message me. You can contact me via text on 07940121872, by email on [email protected], or over on facebook on my Marie’s Bakehouse page. You will need access to zoom for each class, and once the payment has been received I’ll send you a link for access to the class.

Keep safe everyone xx

*I’m adding more classes and information when I can. In the meantime please feel free to email Marie on [email protected] for more information about any classes you might be interested in attending.

*If you are looking for a gift, we can issue gift vouchers for part or full payment against any of our classes.

Online Modelling Class- Knitting Sheep

Choice of..

Tuesday 28th April 2pm or

Wednesday 29th April 7pm
Cost £20 per household

Equipment you will need:

If you have basic cake tools, they will be great for this project. If not, don’t worry.

You will need a board of some description. If you haven’t got a cake card, just cover a piece of stiff cardboard in foil. You need sugarpaste/fondant icing/ready roll icing (it’s called all of these names) in a variety of colours and this can be bought from online cake stores or the supermarket. You will also need four cocktail sticks and something to paint the water on to stick the pieces together. If you haven’t got a new, clean paintbrush, use what you have handy like a cotton bud.

If you have white vegetable fat (for example Trex) this is useful for kneading into the paste to stop cracking. But it’s not essential.

If you have edible glue, or can make some using tylo or CMC powder, that’s also useful but not essential.

If you have tylo or CMC to knead into the paste to help it keeps it’s shape, that’s also useful, but again not essential.

If you’d like to join us, or have any questions you can contact me on 07940121872, email me on [email protected] or on the fb page Marie’s Bakehouse.

Please email [email protected] or phone on 07940121872 to reserve your place, or you can use the contact page.

Equipment you will need:

You will need a board or two of some description. If you haven’t got cake cards, just cover a piece of stiff cardboard in foil. You need sugarpaste/fondant icing/ready roll icing (it’s called all of these names) in a variety of colours (you do not need to follow the same colours as mine) and this can be bought from online cake stores or the supermarket. You will need something to paint the water on to stick the pieces together. If you haven’t got a new, clean paintbrush, use what you have handy like a cotton bud. You’ll need a knife and something to make hollows into the paste too. A clean dry cotton bud might do the trick for this one.

The smiles are drawn on with black food colouring and a thin paintbrush. If you do not have this, you can make them with black sugarpaste.

If you have white vegetable fat (for example Trex) this is useful for kneading into the paste to stop cracking. But it’s not essential.

If you have edible glue, or can make some using tylo or CMC powder, that’s also useful but not essential.

Looking Forward- Cake Minds Modelling Classes

Marie is an accredited Cake Minds teacher. The philosophy behind Cake Minds is to meet together regularly to build friendships in a supportive atmosphere as well as to learn and enhance our sugarcraft skills. Obviously that is not possible at the moment. However, there is a growing Cake Minds Community on our facebook group. If you sign up and pay a deposit of £25 towards your first Cake Minds class ready for when we are allowed to get together again, you get access to that community NOW. The teachers will be adding short tutorial, hints and tips to the group whilst we are unable to meet in person.

If you choose to attend the Cake Minds Modelling Classes you will also get access to the Cake Minds community and additional benefits such as extra online tutorials on the website. If you attend the Cake Minds classes it is expected that you build your own tool kit to bring to each session. Initially I will have the tools for you to use, if you’d like to come and give them a try before making any purchases. You can see more about Cake Minds here www.cakeminds.co.uk

Each session includes two hours tuition and delicious (usually homemade!) treats.
All Monthly Modeller Classes are held at The Croft, near St Michael’s Church on Church Road in Flixton, near Urmston, Manchester, M41 6HS (ten minutes from The intu Trafford Centre).
Full payment is required on booking for Monthly Modeller Classes.
