[...]Hi I’m Marie, welcome to Marie’s Bakehouse. I produce all my makes and bakes from my home kitchen in Urmston, Manchester.
As well as producing beautifully decorated and deliciously tasting cookies and handmade cake toppers for posting or local collection (which you can find in my shop) I make celebration cakes, and teach sugarcraft classes for both adults and children. I also run cupcake decorating parties. I have written for different cake baking and decorating magazines and you can find lots of my tutorials in Bake and Decorate Magazine (formally Cake Decoration and Sugarcraft Magazine). I have won many awards at Cake International, including Golds and First in Class.
I started making cakes after ordering two cakes, which turned out to be terrible, for celebrations when my daughters were small. I decided that if I wanted them to have amazing birthday cakes, I’d have to learn how to do it myself. And so Marie’s Bakehouse was born. Whilst this started as purely a cake business, it has over time grown to include Risky Biscuit, which you can find in the website shop- sets of four delicious biscuits in a choice of colours and flavours, with a piped message, some on the cheeky side!
I have been awarded a five star rating from the Environmental Health Service, I have my food hygiene qualifications and my kitchen is regularly inspected. I am fully insured and registered with the council. I also have the relevant certificate for holding children’s classes and birthday parties.
You can also find me on facebook or instagram.
Whether you are looking for a bespoke party for children or adults, a fantastic cake for your celebration, unique favours for your party, a custom made cake topper for your own baked creation, a cookie gift, corporate events or favours, or you’d just like to come and learn how to do it yourself in one of my friendly step by step classes, you’ve found the right place!
You can browse our pages for more information about what we do, or head on over to the shop where you’ll find fabulous Marie’s Bakehouse and Risky Biscuit goodies available to purchase for local collection or postal orders.
It couldn’t be easier to contact Marie to discuss your party, class place, custom cake or cookies! You can use the contact page, text or phone Marie on 07940121872 or email marie@mariesbakehouse.co.uk to discuss your ideas and requirements/for more information about anything we do, or to book in your delicious bespoke custom made cake!

“We’ve got 3 little girl’s and every Christening or birthday we’ve had a beautiful cake from Marie. We’ve just had our youngest daughter christened last Sunday and her Owl cake was stunning and everyone loved it. There was none left by 6pm Monday. Our wedding cake is the next one we’ll be getting in October and I’m so excited to see it. We’d never go elsewhere because every time we get our cake it’s on time, everything and more than we’d ever imagined it would be and the quality is outstanding. I can’t rate Marie high enough and I’d recommend her to anyone xx”
“A lovely lady who bakes and decorates the MOST amazing cakes – what more could we ask for?! Marie recently created our wonderful wedding cake which looked incredible and tasted even better! Would highly recommend. x”
“Great item, really tasty (we had vanilla) and individually packaged so was easy to store until the party. They lasted well and the bear shape was adorable. Wish we had a few spare that I could eat now! If I had to add anything it would be great to have an option for a little bow or buttons on the bear to personalise it. We had them as part of a baby shower favor box so would have loved to add some blue on there.”
